Easy Birding Maps

Easy Birding Maps are for regular people, birders and non-birders alike, who want to find birding hotspots but don’t know exactly where they are. My recent move to Davis from The South Bay has given me another chance to move from totally lost to trailing my “breadcrumb” maps of discovery again.  When I take a group on a bird walk, I usually hear: “I had no idea this place was here” or “I had no idea those birds were here.” There are many birding hotspots in Yolo County and the San Francisco South Bay--parks, multi-use creek trails, bike paths, former salt pond levees.  Many are easily accessible, even for wheelchairs and baby strollers. Knowing where to park, in advance, is very important. And, of course, it's nice to have directions to exactly where to look!  So, I made Google maps of places I’ve been and want to revisit, mostly in Santa Clara County, but now, also in Yolo County.  Others have found these maps helpful as a way to plan a safe, comfortable, and productive bird walk. I hope you do as well.
